Multi-language disaster preparedness resources

Everyone should have access to the information they need to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.

Through NEMA’s Disaster Risk Reduction Package, Get Ready Queensland has developed a range of resources to help culturally and linguistically diverse communities prepare for and build resilience to severe weather events.

Available in 10 languages and Easy Read format, the resources make important disaster preparedness information more accessible to people from diverse communities and those with lower English literacy.

They provide practical guidance on seven common natural hazards in Australia: bushfires, floods, cyclones, storms, heatwaves, earthquakes and tsunamis. The resources include videos, factsheets, posters and digital materials to help communities understand their risks and take practical steps to prepare.

You will also find information on how to use, adapt, promote and distribute the videos and other resources within your community.
