Acknowledging funding

Using the NEMA logo

Consistent branding ensures a clear and recognisable identity across Australian Government departments and agencies.

You must obtain permission before using the NEMA logo for any programme, initiative, or other promotional purposes.

For any logo file requests and questions regarding the use of the NEMA logo or the Australian Government Crest, please contact digital@nema.gov.au.

For guidance on using any Australian Government branding, read the Australian Government Branding Guidelines. The Commonwealth Coat of Arms Information and Guidelines explain how to work with the Commonwealth crest.

Co-branding with other logos

Partner organisations, including state or territory governments, may display their logo alongside the NEMA logo when appropriate and approved.

In some cases, this is required as part of the funding arrangement.

Before using the NEMA logo with other logos, refer to the Australian Government Branding Guidelines.

File format quick guide

  • PNG: Use for logos in Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and other presentations.
  • EPS: Use for professional publishing (e.g. Adobe InDesign), banners and signage.
  • JPG/JPEG: Suitable for photographs, not logos.

NEMA logo versions

The Australian Government Crest, as well as the NEMA logo, must not be resized smaller than 20mm in width.

Always use approved logo files. Do not attempt to redraw, alter, edit, or recolour the NEMA logo.

Acknowledging NEMA funding and support

Organisations receiving NEMA funding must ensure that NEMA’s contribution is appropriately acknowledged in relevant materials and activities.

Publications and materials

Funding recipients must, wherever possible, include a clear acknowledgement of NEMA’s support in a prominent position and in an appropriate form when publishing or producing any material related to the funded project.

Acknowledgements should:

  • identify NEMA as the funding body
  • include the relevant project name or identifier where the output is a publication.

Media and public engagement

Similar efforts should be made to acknowledge NEMA’s support when participating in television or radio programmes, or being interviewed by print or online media.

Important note and acknowledgement examples

When publicising NEMA’s funding support, ensure that the acknowledgement does not imply that views or messages expressed are those of the Australian Government or NEMA, unless NEMA has formally endorsed them.

Sometimes the exact acknowledgement wording required will be detailed in the funding agreement. If it is not, examples of appropriate acknowledgements are below.

Full acknowledgement:

“This project/event/product/publication is supported by the Australian Government’s National Emergency Management Agency through the Disaster Ready Fund.”

Short form (where space is limited):

“Supported by the Australian Government’s National Emergency Management Agency.”
