Different properties and communities face different levels of risk for cyclone. Find out what yours is.

The level of risk from tropical cyclones is dependent on:

  • the location of the house,
  • features of the house and garden, and
  • characteristics of the site.

Resilience rating tools can be used to help you understand the risk of damage to your house. They assess the attributes of your property or community and may provide recommendations to help mitigate the risks.

Codes and standards, e.g. AS/NZS 1170.2 or AS 4055, can be used to assess the hazard at a specific site.
