What is a strategy?

A strategy is a collection of actions that if implemented together, can reduce the risk of damage during a weather event or crisis.

Know your flood risk

  • Strategy
It's important to be aware of the level of risk that your house could be exposed to in a flood.

Different properties and communities face different levels of risk in a flood.

The level of risk from a flood is dependent on:

  • how close the house or community is to bushland and water
  • the type of bush and the slope of the land under the bush and features of your house and property.

Resilience rating tools can be used to help you understand the risk of damage to your house. They assess the attributes of your property or community and may provide recommendations to help mitigate the risks.

Actions

Getting a resilience rating can help assess how your home would cope in a disaster. A flood rating will identify how resilient your home is and make recommendations to reduce your risk.

Flood resilience rating tools will be added as they become more available.
