Strata Resilience Program

The Strata Resilience Program (the Program) supports bodies corporate in Central and North Queensland to improve the resilience of their strata properties against cyclones.

The Australian Government has committed $40 million to the program with the Queensland Government committing $20 million.

Available support to bodies corporate

Through the Program, eligible bodies corporate will be able to apply for a co-contribution grant. This grant will provide funding for resilience works identified in their property’s Strata Title Inspection Report. These reports are available through the James Cook University Cyclone Testing Station.

Co-contribution grants will be up to $15,000 (including GST) per home, and up to is $150,000 (including GST) per body corporate.

Benefits of the Strata Resilience Program

The Program will enable a range of retrofitting works to properties. The works will lower risk and put downward pressure on insurance premiums by reducing the damage from disasters.

Potential works may include:

  • replacing hollow external doors with solid ones
  • installing shutters or screens to block debris, and
