Supporting mental health programs for school-aged children in North Queensland
The North Queensland Resilient Kids Grants were announced in the 2020–21 budget as part of a $60 million package for five new grant programs to accompany the release of After the flood: A strategy for long-term recovery to support flood affected communities recovery from the 2019 North Queensland Monsoon Trough event.
Purpose
The North Queensland Resilient Kids Grants provided $2 million in funding to support the Western Queensland and Northern Queensland Primary Health Networks to commission the development and delivery of preventative mental health programs for school-aged children in 10 local government areas affected following the 2019 North Queensland monsoon trough that currently do not have access to these sort of mental health programs.
